When we are young we have no wrinkles and then over time with repeated movement of the same muscle in the same way we have wrinkle lines starting to appear. Collagen does not like movement so it starts to break down in the areas where that repeated movement takes place. Consider your forehead. We all life our eyebrows many times a day, its one of the most universal facial expressions. The initial lines that start to appear are called dynamic wrinkles. The lines only appear when the movement of that muscle is taking place. But when the muscle is at rest the lines disappear.
With continued movement the dynamic wrinkles will become static wrinkles. Meaning they no longer disappear when the muscles are at rest. The wrinkles or the crease lines will be there even when the face is completely relaxed and still.
The ideal time to treat wrinkle lines would be before they become deep entrenched static lines.
